A British woman was horrified to discover that a vase she had been using for three decades is actually an unexploded bomb. Kathryn Rawlins, from Atherstone, Warwickshire said she found the shell when was 15 and had kept it filled with her favorite flowers, assuming it was safe until recently she saw a documentary featuring WWI bombs in Coventry.

The scared mother immediately dialed the police, who called in experts from the Ministry of Defense to take away the vase and remove the explosive, and returned it to Kathryn later.
“The police said that the shell had the potential to have killed anybody that was within about 20 meters of it and could well have taken the house down,” she said.
Kathryn now continues to use the shell vase, because “it’s just become a part of my family now,” she said.
